Where's a pair of ruby slippers when you need them?
Who: Wilykit and whoever joins her
What: For once, it's the cat that got dragged in
Where: Just outside the temple
When: Late afternoon/early evening
Warnings: None
Notes:
In retrospect, maybe Wilykit should have listened to her brother after all. If she hadn't insisted on venturing just a little further into that cave instead of turning back like Wilykat had suggested so they wouldn't be late for supper (but Lion-O's anointment trials were coming up, and they had to know every inch of their chosen terrain by heart before then), then maybe she wouldn't have somehow gotten herself stranded on another world like this.
After her initial bout of confusion and alarm at suddenly finding herself in a lush forest around noon instead of a labyrinthine cavern near dusk, Wilykit had eventually tracked down a pair of locals who were out on a hike. They had taken one look at her and promptly directed her to a nearby temple; she'd find answers to her questions there. The fact that they were so blasé about the situation should have tipped Wilykit off to how this world wasn't exactly playing by the rules she knew, but at the time, she just really wanted to get back home before the others started to worry too much.
Not that the folks at the temple had been much help in that regard, though. Wilykit had pretty much just gotten a "Yeah, our Goddess just pulled you in from another world for some reason. She does that sometimes" and a "Sorry, but none of the usual ways for you to get home are working right now, try back here later" along with a map to the nearest town and the local shelter for similarly displaced people.
So now here she was, sitting on the platform just outside the temple doors and trying to come to grips with her current situation. She wasn't crying, because she knew that wouldn't accomplish anything, but she did have a speck of something caught in her eye as she tried to think of a way back to Third Earth that didn't involve waiting for a train or just hoping the goddess responsible for bringing her here would suddenly change her mind and send her right back.
